Background

Field and Lawn were approached to provide additional conference space to host The Association of Coloproctology conference at The Sage Gateshead. The Sage Gateshead is a unique North East music venue, as well as a bespoke wedding venue, conference and music education centre. With 2 large car parks The Sage has suitable space to house temporary structures to increase their capacity when required.

Brief

The brief was to supply temporary structures to provide additional space for the conference. Within this brief Field and Lawn had to take into account strict weight loading restrictions in the car parks, this proved to be an interesting challenge.

Solution

Two large structures were used to provide 3,000 square metres of space to run seminars and exhibitions as well as provide facilities for refreshments and lunches. Through careful planning the structures were constructed ensuring that the weight distribution never exceeded the maximum loadings for the car park.
