With summer fast approaching, the days are getting longer and dedicated marathon runners are out in force.

Field and Lawn's Bristol and London depots have been hard at work over the last few months providing structures for some of the UK’s largest closed road running events, including the King of them all - The London Marathon.

Providing over 8,500 sqm of marquee structures for the marathons in London and Brighton back in April, our on-site structures have provided the essential spaces required for a successful running event including  first aid tents, large changing structures, media hubs, elite athletes’ structures, and even complete charity villages.

Though highly enjoyable, it was certainly no easy sprint to the finish line with these projects. Each site had its challenges, the first being that all structures had to be secured using ballast. This meant that our trucks were transporting over 450 tonnes of marquee weights around the South of England - no easy task. Combine this with building structures on Brighton beach (beaches not exactly being known for their adaptability to marquee structures!) and bustling Horseguard’s Parade in London, this may have been too much to take.

But not for the Field and Lawn team! We pride ourselves on the quality of our crews at all of our branches, as well as our ability to adapt to the needs of our clients.

When preparing for a sporting and a festival event, no matter how big, we understand that there are always logistical issues that can be difficult to manage. At Field and Lawn, we want to alleviate some of that pressure by using our experience and superb team of full time staff to deliver what we consistently promise to our clients - high quality, on time and on budget.
