The Royal Highland Show Returns
Monday 31 July, 2017
The Royal Highland Show is, without doubt, the highlight of the Scottish agricultural calendar. From farmers to show jumpers, retailers to caterers, the crowds were out in force with a record breaking 190,000 visitors attending the four day extravaganza.
Organised by the Scottish charity, Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland, 2017 saw the 177th year of this annual event, showcasing the very best of farming food and rural life. Contributing over £50 million to the Scottish economy, £8 million of this total being spent by the attendees at the various stalls, it’s no wonder that this show has won countless awards and continues to grow in attendance each year.
Turning 280 acres of land at the Royal Highland Centre into the jam-packed show that visitors have come to know takes a great deal of hard work. But the Field and Lawn team was on hand to pitch in, providing marquee structure hire for a variety of purposes. Supplying a whopping 14,400 sqm of shelter, structures ranged from 9 sqm catering marquees to the 2,000 sqm sheep shelters - after all, it’s important to keep all attendees happy at the Show including visitors of the four-legged variety.
