It only takes Field and Lawn!

Have I told you lately that we’ve been supplying marquees for some of the most successful acts in the world?
The Field and Lawn Bristol branch worked closely with with a long-term client in May to supply marquees at two locations for six events. The marquees were used at concerts for Muse, Rod Stewart, Take That and Spice Girls.
We arrived by starlight and built dressing rooms, kitchens, food halls and wardrobes at St. Mary’s Stadium in Southampton and Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol. We hadn’t built a marquee at either venue for a couple of years, but you never forget and hopefully now we are back for good.
The installations across both sites were extremely challenging with the madness of every contractor fighting for access. Big stadium concerts are constructed within very tight schedules, where time is running out and everything changes. A little patience was required at times and the crews often had to move over and stop.
All the marquees were built on tarmac, requiring over 80 concrete blocks to be moved into small spaces between existing structures and temporary cabins. Our forklift driver and banksman became one as they navigated a map of the problematique to get everything into position. The flood of 15 forklift trucks moving around on site created some hysteria but it didn’t faze our crew as they were sailing through it.
We were proud to see these events make the headlines and to see them shine. Find out more about our marquee hire service for festivals by contacting your nearest branch.
