Parklife Festival Sneak Peek...

Field and Lawn has been the sole marquee supplier for several festivals across the UK mainland for nearly two decades.

Today, we are taking a sneaky peek at the Parklife 2019 festival build at Heaton Park, Manchester. This sold-out music festival takes place during the second weekend of June and has evolved from its original residency at Platt Fields Park back in 2010, with attendance of 50,000. Soon requiring more space, and more structures, 2012 marked the move to the larger Heaton Park.

Last week, our Manchester teams started on the local mammoth task of commencing build for the Parklife Festival.

Robert Hawksworth, our Lead Foreman for this festival, explains how this is one of his favourites to build.

"Last week was great! As it was dry, the structures flew up in no time. Next week with the elements, rain and wind to contend with, it could be an entirely different story but we're up to the challenge.

"This is one of our largest scheduled builds with nearly 10,000sqm of marquee structures being provided. It’s my favourite as it's such large space and you see the festival grow each day."

The main Parklife Festival weekend has sold out, with expected attendance over the weekend coming in at around 80,000.

A new addition for 2019, the Parklife Festival will also include an additional sold-out gig the week after where the Courteeners will take to the stage.

The Field and Lawn team therefore has a short window of reconstruction time over a few days which includes dismantling nearly 4,000sqm of marquees ready for the next event.

The pictures featured give a sneaky peek of the Artist Village at Parklife. The team has raised the floor to capture the view through the woods on the right and you'll see pictures of the Ring Beam floor being built as well as a the completed 5m long structure with glazed bays and PVC.
